He believes strongly that his clients deserve the best care. He presents his patients with all viable treatment options such as FUT and FUE (follicular unit extraction). Each technique is discussed and explained thoroughly so the patient can make an educated decision which option is best suited for them and meets their expectations. Dr. Meshkin also discusses other options including nonsurgical therapies, such as medical and laser treatment, if appropriate. He offers hair transplant consultations free of charge.
During the initial consultation he spends a considerable amount of time to educate the patient utilizing computerized hair analysis to evaluate the extent of hair loss, hair characteristics, and donor density. He uses different methods to estimate the number of grafts needed for transplant and provides all the information necessary to his patients so that they can make an educated decision. Each treatment is customized to the patients’ needs and concerns.
A primary reason for seeking hair restoration is to restore ones appearance to the condition before hair loss. One of the more critical decisions in hair restoration is determining where the new hairline should be. Dr. Meshkin discusses the new hairline carefully with patients and makes his measurements so that the hairline is natural and blends with other facial features. He takes into account the facial contour, ethnicity, gender, age, hair characteristics, patient desire, expectations, type of donor hair, graft placement, size of grafts, and overall technique to ensure a natural appearance.
Regardless of the technique used to harvest the donor hair, once the donor hair is out, Microscopic Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation is performed, which involves using high powered surgical microscopes to dissect the donor hair into its natural follicular units. The units may contain one, two or three hairs and are placed into incisions created by the finest needles available. These very small and minimally invasive incisions are used to dense pack the frontal hairline and the crown area, when appropriate for the patient. In the case of FUT, the latest Trichophytic technique is employed exclusively for the donor area closure, which makes the scar line virtually invisible after healing.
Doctor Meshkin is an active member of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS), the world’s largest organization of hair restoration surgery. He is one of the first hair transplant doctors who become a diplomat of American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).
He is the innovator of the Nokor Microslit grafting which contributed to the development of dense packing Microslit procedures being used today. He has published many articles in the Journal of Dermatological Surgery, the Journal of Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the Hair transplant Forum. He is regularly invited to lecture on hair transplant surgery at highly recognized symposiums, teaching seminars and many international Television and radio stations in the U.S. and abroad.
In order to achieve the highest quality result, Dr. Meshkin and his experience staff devote a large amount of time and attention to each patient. Thus, Dr. Meshkin often limits himself to operating on only one patient per day. Dr. Meshkin’s price per graft is very modest by California standards and depends on the number of grafts being performed.

Some consider hair to be the most aesthetic part of the face. As such, baldness can dominate one’s appearance, drawing attention from a beautiful face. The hairline is where your scalp hair borders your forehead and frames your face, thereby bringing out the beauty and richness of one’s features. When the hairline starts to recede, one’s facial features also recede into the background. A primary reason for seeking hair restoration is to restore your appearance to the condition before hair loss. One of the more critical decisions in hair restoration is determining where your new hairline should be, which should carefully be discussed with your physician...

Crash diets and caloric deprivation of less than 1,000 calories per day or sudden weight loss of more than 20 pounds have been reported to be associated with hair loss. The evidence of hair shedding can be noticed one month after the diet begins. Nutritional factors that are necessary for essential hair growth are protein, fatty acids, Zinc, Iron, Biotin, Magnesium, vitamins A,C, E, and B complex. Questions to Ask Your Hair Restoration Physican About His or Her Technicians - 3/12/2010
Ultra refined microscopic follicular unit grafting raises the bar for hair restoration physicians and their staff. This delicate and demanding hair transplant procedure requires more skill and careful attention to be performed properly. The smaller and more tightly packed incisions require closely dissected follicular unit grafts that are carefully trimmed under microscopes. These follicular units are cut under the microscope into their natural state of one, two, or three hairs, and then placed into very small incisions using the lateral slit technique.

Finasteride has been available for over 10 years and has been shown to be somewhat safe and effective. Finasteride (Propecia) works best for early and moderate hair loss, but it may also help patients with more advanced hair loss to preserve their remaining hair, and its use is suggested by hair restoration surgeons as an effective medication to slow down or reverse male pattern hair loss in many men. It is often used as a complimentary treatment for hair transplant patients.
