Dr. Cohen has specialized in hair transplantation for over 25 years and has continually evolved his techniques and now performs excellent ultra refined follicular unit hair transplantation and robotic assisted follicular unit extraction using the ARTAS Hair Restoration System.
Dr. Cohen is a board certified dermatologist who received his training at the Yale University School of Medicine. He also lectures on hair transplantation and hair loss at the Yale University School of Medicine where he is an associate clinical professor of dermatology.
Dr. Cohen is dedicated full time to hair transplantation and was among the first surgeons to utilize the microscope in preparing follicular unit grafts. He and his staff have stayed on the cutting edge of the most recent evolutions and refinements in hair transplantation, including recent ultra refined techniques and robotic FUE.
His experienced staff of seven medical technicians is composed mostly of professional nurses. Given his large and well trained staff, Dr. Cohen can provide his patients with sessions of in excess of 3,000 follicular unit grafts with uncompromising quality.
During follicular unit transplantation (FUT), he uses the custom blade cutter to create tiny blades and minimally invasive incisions that are as small as 0.7 mm. All grafts are trimmed under microscopes. He also performs the trichophytic closure to minimize any visible scarring in the donor area.
For FUE, Dr. Cohen utilizes the ARTAS robot to assist him in obtaining consistently high quality FUE grafts resulting in greater patient comfort, faster healing and no linear scar.
Dr. Cohen and his surgical staff are dedicated to maintaining state of the art surgical techniques. They attend both national and international hair transplantation conferences to share new techniques and ideas with other leaders in the field of hair transplantation. Most recently, Dr. Cohen was an invited speaker and faculty member at the World Hair Association Live Surgery Meeting, as well as a featured speaker at the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery annual meetings.“Town and Country” magazine recognized Dr. Cohen as one of The Top Hair Transplant Surgeons in North America. In Dr. Cohen's office there are no sales people or "consultants". Dr. Cohen meets with every patient personally to determine whether they are a candidate for hair transplantation. These consultations are complimentary.
