bgp had a hair restoration procedure by Raymond Konior, MD..
How has loosing my hair affected me.
I started losing my self confidence in many aspects of life. I felt less "manly". I would also be comparing myself to other men that had more hair. Losing my hair even played a role in the failure of my marriage. My kids would tease me (kids can be cruel), my mom would always bring it up, people who I had not seen in a while would do a double take. I no longer enjoyed looking in the mirror and compensated by growing a beard and longer hair in the back.
What treatments worked best for me.
Rogaine for about a year under my dermotologist care. Hair transplanation. What treatments worked best for me. Hair transplantation. What treatments I would recommend. Hair transplantation, defintely!
This is how it all happened.
I had consultations with three different doctors. Of the three, I selected one to do the procedure. He just knew more and had done more hair transplant surgeries. Plus he was well known and highly regarded in the field by his peers. That was important to me. I did not plan on going to a "hair transplant chain store". I had an additional consultation with the selected doctor (Dr. Konior, Oakbrook IL USA) because I had a few more questions.
We scheduled the procedure for a Thrusday so I could have 4 days without work to recover. I went to the doctor's at about 7am. They gave me some meds to relax me and rest of the time I was face down while the doctor and his team worked on me. All during the procedure, the doctor told me what he was doing and fielded questions that I asked. There was no pain and it was over pretty fast. After that I sat for a bit to make sure I felt OK.
I was driven home by my wife. She set me up on the couch with some pillows, water, the TV remote and phone. She filled a perscription for pain and some sleep aids in case I needed them. I basically relaxed the rest of day one. I only took the pains meds on the first night and that was just in cause it hurt during the night. The first night was tricky to sleep because the incision for the donor area was where I lay my head but I just slept on the could in a more sitting up position and turned my head sideways. The next day I felt pretty darned good. I still just took it easy. By the end of day two I wanted to shower which I did (not washing the hair). On day three, I was moving around pretty normally but just didn't do anything strenuous. On the morning of the 4th day, I do belive I showered and washed my hair. I then went to work. No one noticed anything.
All in all, it was a pretty easy process. In fact, my brother-in-law had a much harder time with his vasectomy than I did with the hair transplation. And my friend had much harder recovery getting her wisdon tooth pulled than the hair transplant surgery.
Am I happy with the results?
Extremely satisfied. Form the consult meeting, the procedure, recovery, and the results.
Would I recommend a hair Transplant.
Yes.
How a Hair Transplant changed my life.
I am back to the same guy I used to be. I don't think about my hair much any more. I focus on my energies on my partner, kids, work, and myself. Not on my lack of hair.

Dr. Raymond Konior, Oakbrook, IL. Yes I would recommend him. Prior to treatment, he was direct with what he could do and what I should expect. And the results were as good and actually better than he described. His staff was great also.
