How has loosing my hair affected me.
Loss of hair filled me with self doubt and self consciousness. Hair pieces were not an option for me in that I found them too unconformable expensive and phony looking. (See my Blog)
What treatments worked best for me.
Nothing worked except for transplant surgery.
This is how it all happened.
I have had four transplant surgeries during a three and half year period. Each session went flawlessly with a minimum of discomfort. There was slight swelling of the forehead for about six hours after each surgery. An ice pack placed on the forehead resolved this issue. Specifically I placed an ice pack on my forehead - ie. about five minutes on and two minutes off. This action only lasted during the first six hours subsequent to surgery. After that the ice pack was no longer needed in that most of the swelling had subsided.
Healing of the transplanted sites took approximately seven to ten days with no ill effects. Stitches were removed from the donor area after fourteen days with little to no pain. A very slight scar remained which is hardly noticeable when the hair along the side and back of my head is tightly pulled up.
Slight numbness in certain parts of my scalp occurred after each surgery; however I regained complete feeling in all areas of my scalp within several months following each surgery. (See my Blog)
Am I happy with the results?
I have found that my transplants look and feel tremendous. Not one of my friends knows I have had the procedures done though they realize something is different about me. Ha!!
Further I have not lost a single transplant which can occur in patients using the "Slit" graft method. (See My Blog)
Would I recommend a hair Transplant.
I would highly recommend transplant surgery to others if they select a competent doctor such as Dr. Carl Shory of Latham's Hair Clinic. In fact I have recommended Dr. Shory to several of my friends both of whom have had astounding results after their procedures. (See my Blog)

Further he has pioneered a relatively new surgical procedure that uses a radio-surgical electrical instrument that actually removes a tiny portion of scalp about the size of a pin head at the recipient site. Thus a small hole that exactly fits the diameter depth and direction of hair growth of each hair transplant is obtained.
