I had my first session on September 24, 2008 with Dr. Rahal and staff in Ottawa, Ontario in Canada. I received 4278 grafts in the front two-thirds of my head. I had a great experience with a very artistic doctor and now enjoying all the hair growing.

Treatments: |
I take 1/4 Proscar every night, with the fifth night off. Apply Rogaine Foam 5% twice a day. Take a multivitamin, Omega-3 Fish Oil pill, and 3000mg(s) of MSM and Glucosamine a day. Wash my hair with Jason Natural Biotin Shampoo every other day with Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner. |

| My Hair Loss Story. |
Began losing my hair in college. Not many comments about it early on, but in the mid-twenties it became more clear that I was really receding. Once comments from buddies began in earnest, I was already aware of my loss and joined them in the ribbing.
I really just enjoyed what I had on top up until recently, never wore hats or avoided social situations. But when I looked at pictures of my profile, I couldn't stand it and I felt that this was as good of a time as any to move forward with a HT. I had done my research, had consults with several top docs, spoke and met with many patients, did more research and chose the doctor I felt was best for me. |
| How has my hair loss affected me? |
Just envious of friends and family members with full heads of hair. Don't like profile pictures taken of me. Feel like I look older than I am. |
| What hair loss treatments have worked best for me? |
Don't know yet as the results from my HT are far from in!! We shall see |
| Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results? |
The surgery was a piece of cake. The waiting and doldrums have been tougher. I will be happier once the results begin to show |
| What hair loss treatments would I recommend? |
Proscar for the cost savings over Propecia. Rogaine Foam 5% is a lot less irritating than the liquid and doesn't leave the hair greasy like the liquid. These two preventative measures are inexpensive enough for every guy that is losing their hair. |
| How has hair restoration surgery changed my life? |
To be determined... but I am the same person today as I was before the procedure, albeit with a smiley face on the back of my head (hey, I am a happy guy!!) |
| My general advice and suggestions. |
Don't let hairloss depress you or take you away from social situations--life is too short. Be confident in yourself and who you are as a person (I know--people will say I should take my own advice). I have always had the confidence and didn't mind my overall appearance, I just wanted more hair on the top of my head! |
