Surgical Treatments:	I chose to have the procedure done in December of 2005 in a one-time session of 2750 grafts. Keep in mind that Dr. Alexander places all one hair folicles in the front, followed by the two hair folicles, saving the larger three and four hair follicles to be placed towards the center, therefore creating a much more natural look. The main reason I chose Dr. Alexander is that he uses blades under 1 millimeter which allows him to achieve an extremely high density look as you can see in the photos. This was evident immediately when I compared his patients to others I had seen post-op. Do your homework and if you are considering having the procedure done, make sure the one and two hair folicles are properly placed in the front and the surgeon is using the smaller blades, otherwise you will inevitably receive a "plugged" or doll hair look.

Non-Surgical Treatments:	I am taking one Propecia pill per day which has helped me fill in the crown area and use Minoxodil twice per day. I am 8 months post-op and I am advanced to the point that I can again wear my hair as short as I did when I was younger. I cannot express enough how estatic I am with my results.

My Hair Loss Story.

I started to thin in the crown area at the age of 28. Within a year or so, the temple area also started to thin out. I was in a job at that time where I could wear a hat most of the day to cover the hair loss and accepted the inevitable due to genetics. When I made the move to a sales career, I was very self concious of my appearance. I then started to really research the procedure and set out to find a doctor who would give me a natural hairline. After meeting with Dr. Scott Alexander and seeing some of his patients post-op, I knew I had found the right doctor. The entire experience went very well with minimal discomfort during the procedure. I was able to relax and watch movies and listen to music as the HT was being done and drove myself home later that day. I now actually enjoy telling people that I have had the procedure done. Most are in disbelief until I show them the before photos. The reaction I always get is "You cannot tell at all that you have had transplants" to which I reply "exactly, and you are not supposed to be able to tell". I could not be happier with my results as having the procedure has boosted my confidence and taken at least ten years off my appearance.

Nobody is fooled by wigs or sprays, even the actors in Hollywood are not fooling anybody. Hair transplant surgery, specifically, micrografts are the ONLY way to achieve a natural look. It is also very affordable and the results are more than worth it.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

Boost in self esteem and confidence. I am in sales and image is key. No more "bald guy" jokes among my collegues. I am approaching 45 and I am told I look in my early thirties.
