 My Hair Loss Story.

I probably first noticed my hairline receding around 19 or 20.  I was devastated since it was the eighties and I had some pretty cool, super-long heavy metal hair.  I was sure I'd be a cue ball by age 25.  Fortunately for me, while I quickly developed a mature hairline that I was very self conscious about, the rest of my hair remained thick and no one could tell since it was so long.  About the age of 25 I cut my hair short and it still looked great.  It hung in there pretty well through the rest of my twenties and early thirties and I was pretty happy with it until about 35 when I started losing most of my front third and my crown thinned a bit.  I've been buzzing it down pretty tight for the past couple of years since there was not too much I could do with it anymore.  Now I'm forty and ready to do something about it.

How has my hair loss affected me?

I've tried to resign myself to being "the bald guy" but I just can't.  There are lots of guys out there who look great bald.  I'm not one of them.  I'd say I experienced a great loss of confidence when I realized that I no longer had enough hair to style and ended up having to buzz it down.  I hate seeing photos of myself because the image I see just doesn't match the one in my head.  I hope the journey I'm about to undertake will change some of those feelings but I'm also trying to be very realistic in my expectations.  Time will tell.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

I hope I will be.
