Non-Surgical Treatments: |
I was taking 1.25mg of Proscar on Mon, Wed, Fri for 11 months until the surgery. Proscar helped quite a bit. I didn't notice the difference too much but my friends tell me that they see a big improvement. After the surgery, I am taking 1.25mg of Proscar daily. Also I am applying Rogaine 5% on the surgery area as instructed by Dr. Rahal. |

| My Hair Loss Story. |
From my junior high, friends used to make fun of my wide forehead and tell me that I would get bald when I grow up. Well, I guess they were correct. Now I have lost so much hair and I became officially a bald man a long time ago. If I remember correctly, I was able to cover up my baldness until late 20's. After late 20's, things got out of control and I sort of gave up on the hopes of not losing hair. In the mean time, I have learned to ignore other people's comments about my baldness. But it still hurts when some people mention it or just stare at my bald head. |
| How has my hair loss affected me? |
With hair loss, I lost self-confidence. However, it made me learn to understand people with other weakness. |
| What hair loss treatments have worked best for me? |
Proscar definitely helped. I can't comment on Rogaine. I used to take it a long time ago but stopped using it after a couple of weeks. |
| Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results? |
I was really really scared about the surgery. In my whole life, I never imaged I would go through a surgery on my own choice. It wasn't badatall. The whole day of the surgery went by so fast as I slept through most of time. I must have had a sleeping pill or something. After the surgery, there are some things I had to be extra cautious with. They are not that badatall especially if you think about the possibility of gaining hair back. |
| What hair loss treatments would I recommend? |
I recommend starting on Proscar (Propecia) right away and using the laser comb in combination. I know a guy who used the laser comb and saw the hair growth. After using those products for about a year, I recommend getting the hair transplant to see a lot more difference. |
| How has hair restoration surgery changed my life? |
It's yet to be seen. However, I am enjoying the feeling of the hope that I might gain a lot of hair back. Hey I also enjoy dreaming of me with stylish hair style. LOL |
| My general advice and suggestions. |
Before deciding on the doctor you want to go with, do a lot of research actively. In the end, you only have a limited number chances as your donor area is limited. You want to do it right. Rather than rushing it, I would suggest you wait out until you feel you have researched enough. |
