 My Hair Loss Story.

I have ALWAYS been conscious of my hairloss...Both Grandfathers on mothers and fathers sides were bald, and my father as well...

Despite using products such as "The Helsinki Formula" and other creams, lotions and shampoos since about age 18 or 19, I noticed the beginnings of true hairloss around age 25...  I continued to use the most to date hairloss remedies I could (i.e. Rogaine, Minoxidil) and managed to stave-off my hairloss another few years, but it was a rapidly losing battle... By my mid 30's it was TRULY a problem that I was more or less obsessed with on a daily basis... I did EVERYTHING I COULD (sprays, concealers, special haircuts, etc.) to hide, conceal, and avoid the problem, but, of course, it was ALWAYS there....

This was not only personally devastating (as it is for ANYONE experiencing it...) but also PROFESSIONALLY damaging, as I am an actor, and often roles and parts depend on youth and physicality... I had lost my confidence--not only with the opposite sex, but auditioning for my career as well... I KNEW I had to do something about my hairloss!

How has my hair loss affected me?

Devastated me personally AND professionally.

It has become a major preoccupation in my life...

Loss of confidence and loss of roles for certain!

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

So far, I have used Rogaine, (which I do believe helped me hold onto my existing hair a LITTLE longer than if I'd not used it), concealers (i.e. Dermatch and GLH) to DECENT effect, and a partial frontal-system (i.e. "piece") for my stage work... It has gotten increasingly difficult to feel confident or authentic with either!  I NEEDED to address it... SURGICAL HAIR RESTORATION became the ONLY remaining solution...

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

The EXPERIENCE has been awesome--while it is certainly no cakewalk, it was considerably easier than expected...

RESULTS--we will have to wait and see!  That's what this forum/blog is FOR!!

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Surgery... DEFINITELY surgery was the way to go for me... I don't know what the final results will look like yet, but I'm CERTAIN I WILL be happier than I was with what I had!!
