 My Hair Loss Story.

I began loosing my hair in my late 20's. It was progressive but not too fast. Now that I am in my mid 50's it became a source of personal concern and other people have commented on my baldness. I do not like to see photos of myself with so much scalp showing. I also have a young child and do not want people thinking I am the grandfather.

How has my hair loss affected me?

From the standpoint of self esteem it has not helped much. I do not like looking in the mirror and frankly I have been envious of other men with hair.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I have not really tried any other than the transplant. I have recently started taking Propecia at Dr. Vogel's suggestion.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

So far I could not be happier. The entire experience at Dr. Vogel's office was highly professional and very reassuring. I was a bit nervous about surgery as I have never had anything done before. Dr. Vogel and his staff were terrific.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

Will let you know in 8 months

 My general advice and suggestions.

Anyone looking into this type of procedure owes it to themselves to get the best and do their research. There are clearly many docs out there who can perform the hair transplant but not many who can do an incredible job surgically and also manage the entire process from consultation/education to final result and ongoing care and advise.

I met with many other docs and spoke to a lot of patients before I decided on Dr. Vogel. He was not the cheapest but was definitely the top choice of all I met and heard about. It is a bid mistake to view cost as the #1 criteria for a doctor. His experience with repair work was also reassuring since if he can fix other bad problems, making the transplant look great from scratch should be a pretty basic procedure!
