I started to loose hair at around age 32 and started to take rogain and had no effect. I saw a few dermatologists but was told it was hereditary. I started to take Propecia about 4 years ago with no addition of hair but stopped loosing a lot more. I also started looking at surgery but did not like the look at that time. Recently some advances took my interest again and I eventually did the surgery in Nov 2006 with Dr. Rahal in Ottawa.

I felt a lot less confident in crowds, specially around my wife and a lot of hairy guys.

So far I would say Propecia stopped the mass exodus but am hoping that the surgery will be the real answer. I am very pleased with the results even after one week. he real answer will be in about 6-8 months though.

Only one week but I loved the treatment I got at Dr Rahal's office. Things look very good now. Please make sure if you are going to go through surgery that you have the correct expectations. If you think it is going to be fast and easy, you have a shock coming. It takes a good 6-10 hrs ad you definitely need someone to help you with the post op stuff (washing, soaking, every day stuff like food prep so you can rest).

So far I would say hair transplant if you want to increase volume. If you have volume but are worried about loosing it, definetely Propecia.

I really enjoyed Dr Rahal's frank and hoest approach and he is recommeded by a lot of people on the web. Including me now.
