 My Hair Loss Story.

Hair loss began Age 20. Down hill ever since.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Possibly not as outgoing. I think what has bothered me most is the top being unmanagable and sloppy.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

Fourteen weeks post-hair transplant at this juncture. The experience at Dr. Feller's office was very pleasant. Dr. Feller was very confident and professional. Dr. Feller did run into possible adhesions when making the incision around the donor area(scar tissue beneath the skin, possibly due to head trauma from past motor vehicle accidents). It was not palpable or visible prior to the surgery. He had difficulty in closing the donor area if I can recall correctly. That may have accounted for the severe shock loss in the donor area that I experienced. Especially the right side above and back of my ear. I remember during the surgery it was pulled very tight to close the incision.

For the first 12 weeks my donor scar was scabbing and bleeding pretty regularly. It was painful and sensitive up until about week 13 in both recipient and donor areas. I still have significant numbness on the top of my head....I can not feel light pressure for which I am concerned. I have pain and sensitivity in back of the crown. I still have significant redness in the recipient area so much that people have asked why my scalp is red especially in front.

I see a lot of people on this website that seem to have had no problems with the surgery or healing time. But I must say, I had a tough go of it. It was not easy for me. The shock loss was hard to hide. I am just glad I had long hair to cover it fairly well. Growth in that area is starting to come back now. The surgery itself was comfortable but after that.... It was very difficult for me. I will wait to make an assessment of whether it was worth it in my case.

At week fifteen now and I do have new growth in the front half. Still showing alot of redness and numbness persist on top front of crown. Any support or suggestions I would appreciate. Thanks.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Good healthy diet. Reduce stress. Supp. big time....zinc, iron, copper, vit B-12,B-7 Omega 3's
