 My Hair Loss Story.

I have been conscience of my hair loss since 19 (1981). I actually panicked and joined the Hair Club for Men (HCM) in 1982. I thought I would be bald within five years (now I realize that wouldn't have been the case). I'm one of those who didn't realize you were buying a toupee from HCM, don't be fooled!. I wore the "system" for about three years. A miserable time.

After removing the system, I did nothing until 1992 when I got my first HT with Bosley in LA. Over the next nine years (1995 and 2001) I received two more procedures in NYC with Elliot & True (now True and Dorin Medical Group). These sessions were very expensive and little hair was moved -- mostly to the hairline. However, these procedures allowed me to barely stay ahead of my hair loss.

In the late 90's I started taking Finasteride (one pill split in five portions) and Minoxidil. After some frightening shedding in the beginning I had fantastic results. However, over time my hair didn't stay as full as when I first started but seemed to maintain my hair. I'm now on Avodart.

I found my original pictures from 1992 and have posting those. I'm also received my photo's from Dr. True's office and have included those.

On 27 Jan 2012 I received my fourth, and hopefully last, procedure. After much research I selected Dr. Brett Bolton and had the procedure done in his Nashville, TN location.

How has my hair loss affected me?

It's been a 30 year battle, enough said.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

Propecia, Rogain, Transplants

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

For the most part, jury is still out.

 My general advice and suggestions.

Be ready for a long battle, enjoy what you have as it can really eat away at you.
