 My Hair Loss Story.

I started losing hair when I was in my late 20's. My hairline started to receed, and the hair on top of my head started thinning. Now there's just a hole there. I was devastated, of course, just like anyone else who's going through hair loss. Then a couple years ago I started looking into options. It was in 2011 when I finally decided to get a HT.

How has my hair loss affected me?

My hair loss made a huge dent on my self confidence.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I tried Rogaine, but it didn't work for me. So I decided to look into more practical ways of getting my hair back, which is why I went with hair transplants.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

Yes, I am very happy with my hair transplant experience. My wife was so supportive from the time I started 'researching' options, to the moment I stepped out the door of my surgeon's clinic (plus the recovery period, of course).

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

I can't really recommend anything in particular as hair loss "treatments" differ from person to person. What I would suggest is to research your options and go from there. You can try topical products, medications, etc., but if you do decide to go with surgical treatments, I recommend you talk with your doctor thoroughly about what you want.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

It definitely has. It has restored my self confidence. Prior to my hair restoration, I was always so grumpy (and I feel really bad about that now). I hated the idea of stepping outside the house, because my "ego" really got a beating (imagine seeing yourself in the mirror with your hair thinning more and more day after day). After my successful hair restoration procedure, I feel better about myself again.

 My general advice and suggestions.

Have realistic expectations. Hair transplantation isn't an overnight solution. It can take weeks, (usually) months, or sometimes even over a year before you'll actually see any density and "life" in your transplanted hair or, in other words, the recipient area (I learned this from the many forums I frequented).
