 My Hair Loss Story.

I noticed hair loss around 20 years of age but didn't really think about it until the central tuft started thinning out - I wasn't bothered by my temple recession at all.

I then took Propecia for ten years with good effect - 10% improvement and it continues to work.

Six weeks ago I had my first hair transplant just to the frontal tuft. My tolerance of my own hair thinning is fairly laid back, which is why I haven't rushed into hair transplant surgery! But I thought it was time to bite the bullet.

Pat Hennessey visited my clinic a week ago and suggested I ought to post, so here I am.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Like most men, I haven't enjoyed losing my hair but neither has it really affected my confidence.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

Propecia

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

So far - the trichophytic scar is excellent at 6 weeks and the overall experience good. Better than some dental treatment I've had!

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Propecia, hair transplantation.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

If I hadn't benefitted from Propecia, I think I would have been a NW5 by now. Then again, I probably would have had hair restoration surgery earlier.

 My general advice and suggestions.

You do have options about hair loss. The best advice is to find out about the options, especially the medical ones, because they do work better the earlier you start them. Surgical options can wait, particularly if you are young (25 or less).
