On Thursday, June 21, 2007, I received 1,675 grafts in one medium hair transplant session, which used 3,000 hairs taken from the donor site on the back of my head. They were placed in 1-, 2-, and 3-hair groups, which looks very natural. Dr. Rose and his staff are very professional, and made me very comfortable. I am more pleased than I imagined could be possible. I took time to research many doctors and felt that Dr. Rose was the most qualified and experienced in my part of the country - perhaps in the whole country - and I was not disappointed. NO, he's not paying me to say this. He doesn't even know I'm writing this blog. I'm just very impressed with his and his staff's techniques and expertise. It's been ten days, and I've had no problems, no pain, no bleeding or oozing, and no side effects. The first two nights I took a half of a pain pill just to make sure I would sleep well since I was sleeping propped up in a recliner resting my head on the suture line, and I did sleep well, but I really didn't have much pain even pressing on the suture line. After that I didn't need any further pain pills or even Ibuprofen! Everything has healed quickly and beautifully. Why didn't I do this ten years ago?! I get the stitches out tomorrow - Tues., July 3rd.

I'm very claustrophobic and was more worried about the close quarters of the surgery room than I was about the actual hair transplant. Dr. Rose and his assistants were very patient with me and understanding of my quirks. I had no problems at all with the claustrophobia once I got there and saw the room. They even trimmed the little surgical gown so it wouldn't touch the front of my neck (MY phobia). VIP treatment!

Creative hair styling to cover the thin spot - Never tried any other hair growth products

 My Hair Loss Story.

UPDATED PICTURES!!!  (March  '09)    I spent 20 years trying to cover up "my bald spot." My thinning hair began at age 30 right after a severe trauma after which a lot of my hair fell out in globs. However, even though most of it grew back quickly, it never grew back right on top. It wasn't extreme compared to total baldness, but for a lady, it was bad. I did a good job at hiding it, but it took a lot of work.

I decided several years ago I wanted the hair transplant. I saved up the money, got up the nerve, and gave myself this 50th birthday present! I am amazed at how well it went. I went to Dr. Rose in Tampa (the BEST) and the procedure was smooth, painless, and gentle. I've had NO problems and am wondering why I waited so long to do this! I can't wait for it all to grow in nice and thick in a few months. It has already done wonders for my self-esteem.

Check out my pictures at this link:

How has my hair loss affected me?

I had very low self-esteem. I always felt as if my thin spot was shiningly bald and that it was surely all anyone else could ever see. It was important to me to get hair!

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I never tried anything other than creative styling until the hair transplant.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

I am thrilled with my hair transplant procedure! It was smooth, painless, and had no after effects. I do NOT regret it one bit. I wish I had done it sooner!

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Hair transplant!

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

It has already given me hope that I'll look better and has increased my self-esteem greatly!

 My general advice and suggestions.

If you are considering a hair transplant, don't be afraid. If you have enough donor hair to do it, go for it! It's worth every penny and you won't regret it IF you go to someone as competent and highly qualified as Dr. Rose!
