Name:

Mphoenixaz

Level of
Baldness:

Bald Class 4

Surgical
Treatments:

I had 2 hair transplants 1997 from a dermatologist. I had two separate surgeries, one was 500 and I think the other one was 700 grafts. I didn't like how it turned out because of the scar and how far apart the grafts were.
I had my 3rd hair transplant today (Nov. 7, 2007) about 2300 + grafts and to have the scar fix. I feel I made the right decision.

Mphoenixaz had surgery performed by Dr. Scott F. Alexander, M.D.

Non-Surgical
Treatments:

Stopped using Rogaine, but Dr. suggested that I start again. I'm currently using Provillus and laser comb. Changed my shampoo to noziral, aloe shampoo and graftcyte.

 My Hair Loss Story.

My hair loss started when I was in my 30s.

How has my hair loss affected me?

When I was younger it bothered me, so I decided to get a hair transplant in my 30s. I went to a dermatologist and it was a mistake. He didn't do a good job and left me with a scar, couldn't really cut my hair really short. Now that I'm older, some of the techniques have improved and decided to have the 3rd one. I stumbled upon this website and saw some of Dr. Alexander's patients and made a decision to have him perform my hair transplant.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

Provillus and laser comb.
I just started taking Beta Sitosterol dietary supplements.

Switched to Propecia.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

11/09 - Still waiting for hair growth, but so far satisfied.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

I really like Provillus because it's all natural and laser comb, but Dr. Alexander suggested that I go back to using Rogaine and Propecia.

 My general advice and suggestions.

If you are seriously thinking about getting hair restoration surgery, learn how to budget and save some money every month. I thought about it in February and decided I could save $1,000 a month by cutting alot of unnecessary expenses such as (cable, eating out, taking vacation, buying clothes etc.) I was going to buy a new car, but decided to keep my old one, so it was a major lifestyle adjustment.
