 My Hair Loss Story.

Been losing hair past 10 years and wanted to restore a more natural and younger appearance.

How has my hair loss affected me?

My hair loss was slow over a long period ... it was noticeable, but it didnt really bother me until recently, when looking back on wedding and family photos and I realized that I no longer looked like the person in the pictures!

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I dont have the time or patience for minoxidil treatment. I wanted a permanent and proven solution, and hair transplant looked to be my best option for the results I am seeking. I researched couple clinics and decided on MHR having seen their impressive glossy materials, speaking with patient consultant who had HT procedure [great before/after results photos] and the surgeon who did the procedure and was very comfortable with them.  Big plus as it's located close to where I live and work.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

It's been only 2 weeks post surgery, and I am happy with the way the entire process has gone. Surgery was long but I was mentally prepared for it (a megasession of 2400 grafts), there was no discomfort, had a great team working on grafts and implants which made the time go quickly. Post-op care is important and I took off from work to take care of myself - I would strongly recommend this to anyone having a hair transplant. You are making a significant investment and you need to take the time to recuperate and care for yourself.

** At 12 weeks post-op, I am very excited at the progress made with re-growth (see Apr 08 photo), particularly of the transplanted hair. Growth is noticeable among my family and they too want to know what I am using on my hair.

*** at 97 weeks am more than thrilled with the results!

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Post-op, I have been using ProCyte's Tricomin shampoo, conditioner and follicle spray 2x per day, and I am satisfied/excited with the results.

in case you don't already know, the folks at ProCyte manufacture both the GrafCyte products, which my surgeon had prescribed for my post-op care regime, and Tricomin products, which are based on same copper peptide technology and purport to aid hair growth. Did some research and decided to use Tricomin regime when my GrafCtye kit was done.

I don't have clinical data to support it, only gut reaction, but I sense that the [rapid] growth I am experiencing is helped by the 2x daily regime of Tricomin products. Then again, perhaps it's psychological, but I am not planning to stop Tricomin ... hey, I have to use something to wash and condition my hair ... why not stuff designed to help growth.

Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

** Am also using Nizoral on weekly basis at a minimum, sometimes more frequently if mood strikes.  I have also added Tricomin Conditioning Shampoo to my routine, and switch between Revitalizing shampoo along with conditioner, and Conditioning shampoo.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

I'm very excited about the future! As you can see from the before/after photo, there is a marked difference in my hairline and I am expecting that coverage will be adequate. I am so excited that I am planning a second procedure for density and to cover the back of my head next year!

 My general advice and suggestions.

Do your research, and if you are looking to make the plunge, do it. Baldness is a choice.
