 My Hair Loss Story.

I started to loose my hair at age 20 in 1995.  I was on Rogaine on and off for about 3 years. I never liked the grease feeling on my head.  I started with Propecia in 2002 and I have been on and off Propecia since that time.  It helped to reduce the speed of hair loss.  I also used Nioxin from 1996 to 2000.  I switched to Nizoral (ketoconazole) around the time I started on Propecia and I felt it helped to reduce hair loss and perhaps have a little growth in the crown area.

In December 2007 I decided it was time to get some grafts.  I went to see Dr. Epstein in Miami and I was very impressed. I got a second quote from Dr. Griffin in Atlanta and I was also very impressed.  I went with Dr. Epstein because all things being equal Dr. Griffing was twice the price.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Loss of confidence. I look older than my age.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I would say the combination of Propecia and Nizoral shampoo.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

I just received the surgery a few days ago. So far, I am very happy but I wont see actual results for 6 months.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Propecia, Nizoral, healthy diet, exercise, and get the grafts done early before you loose more of your front hair line.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

Don't know yet. I still have the crusts in my head from surgery 2 days ago.

 My general advice and suggestions.

Get the surgery done by a top doctor. Dr. Epstein and his staff are great.
