This 40 year old male was a Norwood Type 2 with hair
loss mainly in his temporal alleys. His frontal tuff hairline area was well
This patient was the ideal
patient for dense packing in a type 2 Patient. At age 40 he had a good donor
density and hardly any hair loss in his crown. It is very unlikely his hair loss
will progress to a Norwood type 5 or 6.
I would not recommend placing
this much hair in the hairline zone in a younger patient who I thought would
have a better chance or progressing to a type 5 or 6. In these patients we risk
using up limited donor that most likely will be needed later in life.

The session was done in an area that measured 35 sq cm. To calculate the average density of incisions I divided the total number of FUís, 1929, by the 35 sq cm, which equals 55 FU/sq. cm. The peaks and troughs of the hairline in the transition zone will have less density and the area behind the transition zone will have more density.
