After Hair Transplant Surgery Will My New Hair Style the Same Way?

10/17/2012 1:02:35 AM

Question:

After hair transplant surgery, will transplanted hair follicles style the exact same way as natural hair follicles?

Answer:

During the first few months after surgical hair restoration, it’s common for the new hair growth to have a kinky and somewhat unruly appearance. As time goes on, the follicles will become more and more like their native counterparts and should style just the same. In fact, an interesting phenomenon has been noted that, even though the follicular unit grafts may come from distant areas of the donor site (left side, right side, back), once they are transplanted they seem to eventually come to wave or lay in a similar direction to each other.
