It has been six months since my procedure. I would have thanked Dr. Rose and his staff earlier because they are true professionals in the field with obvious talent. I waited until now because I am now experiencing gratifying results from the procedure. The first 4 months were a time of true patience. I cannot emphasize enough that word. We all want immediate gratification, especially when a large sum is spent. So patience has paid off, although trying at times. I'm not sure I truly understood how patient I had to be. I am still being careful but finally feel so grateful for making the decision. I hope to have another consultation in hopes of getting the crown done by Dr. Rose too. That is how happy and sold I am with Dr. Rose and his staff.
My Hair Loss Story
I began to experience slow hair loss in my middle 30's. Mostly around the crown. The progession was slow until middle 40's when the loss speeded up. By late 40's hair loss was very obvious and early 50's I was now mostly bald. Through my 50's I played denial and as time went became more and more obsessed with my hair loss. I keep myself in very good shape and the hair loss did not match the image I wished to portray. By 60, I felt I needed to finally do something about it. I researched many surgeons all over the world actually. I finally decided on Dr. Paul Rose in Tampa. First let me say he and his staff are true professionals and artists at what they do. It has been 6 months since my surgery. I was so pleased upon leaving that wanted to do this then, but put it off until now because the results are what I purchased and finally I can now thank them for their find work and the results that are finally appearing. I had 1962 graphs I believe. Dr. Rose and his staff told me to have patience. It an interesting thing to pay such a large sum of money and not get immediate gratification. But it is what it is and I have been patient. I really didn't see much until around 4 months. So patience became trying at times, but I toed the line. I am following post op guidelines pretty much now too. I keep my head out of the sun. And do not do anything rough or harsh to my scalp. Dr. Rose said, it would be a year until the results are complete. Again, at this point I can feel comfortable again as and outline in front has developed. I am so pleased with Dr. Rose that I hope to get enough money together and have the crown done as well. That is how sold I am on Dr. Rose and the procedure. It one of the only major money expenditures that keeps on giving.
How has my hair loss affected me?
I began experiencing slow hair loss in my mid 30's. At first it was so slow that I was probably more aware of it that other people. By early 40's I began to let my ego slowly make me feel insecure about hair loss. In my 50's it was a daily mental let down.
What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?
I tried minoxidil for 2 years, but I waited too long. Vitamins, minerals, shampoos, you name it. Waste of time and money. Finally my last resort was hair transplant. The only solution for me.
Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?
I am very happy with my decision. Unfortunately I had to wait a long time to be able to afford the procedure. But I'm not looking back.
What hair loss treatments would I recommend?
Hair transplant surgery
How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?
I obvious more confident on a daily basis. I don't have to worry a comb over blowing around in the wind. Hats have changed their meaning. Instead of hiding my baldness, hats mostly keep the sun off my new head of hair.
My general advice and suggestions.
Be patient after the procedure. Follow the post-op and keep the sun off your head.
