My Hair Loss Story
Now in my 50s, I began losing my hair in my 20's and have progressed to a NW 6-7 . I have worn hair replacement systems for over 20 years. I'm tired of the regular maintenance of hair systems and have now reached a point in my life where I would like a permanent solution to my hair loss, even if it means a thinner head of hair. After extensive research I chose Dr. Steven Gabel to perform my hair replacement surgery.
How has my hair loss affected me?
As I began losing my hair in my 20s it significantly affected my self confidence.
What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?
I have worn hair replacements for many years and have been marginally satisfied with the results. However, they require regular maintenance and can be awkward in certain situations.
Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?
My first transplant surgery went very smoothly and surprisingly was a comfortable, if not enjoyable, experience. The Gabel Center has assembled a first class team.
Very satisfied with the results of my first procedure which restored my front hairline and provided light coverage to the front of my scalp. Just completed a second procedure with Dr. Gabel one year later, adding an additional 1883 grafts for density and further coverage. Given my extensive hair loss, fine hair texture, and limited donor supply I couldn't be more pleased with the final results!
What hair loss treatments would I recommend?
Used Minoxidil during my post operative period and it seemed to accelerate growth of the transplanted grafts. There was noticeable growth at 4 months and good coverage at 6 months.
How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?
Restored self confidence and free of the hassle of maintaining hair systems!
My general advice and suggestions.
