My Hair Loss Story
I began to lose my hair at the age of 19. By age 23, things progressed significantly enough that I started on a product called Avacor. Initially, It turned back some of the loss but over the years my hair retreated back to where it was when I started the solution. From there, my hair loss started to accelerate. I began treatment with Propecia in March 09 and decided to schedule a hair restoration procedure with Dr. Victor Hasson.
How has my hair loss affected me?
When I was in college, the hair loss was quite embarrasing and eventually, devastating. I spent quite a bit of energy concerned about appearance, etc. As I aged, I started to come to grips with my destiny and took the approach be happy for what you have not fixate on those thing you don't.
What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?
At first, Avacor was my drug of choice. I used it twice a day for the first year and only once a day the remaining 7 until about 6 months ago when its affects didn't seem to matter. I boosted back to twice a day and it didn't have much of an effect. I've been on Propecia for a little over three months before the procedure and did notice some gains.
Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?
I was extremely satisfied with my HT experience. Dr. Hasson's team was incredible. The support staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional, which made the experience much more comfortable. Dr. Hasson was very knowledgeable and very skilled. His focus was long term results, which is what I was seeking.
What hair loss treatments would I recommend?
I would recommend the following treatments for hairloss in the following order
Minoxidil - I'm not sure if the rubbing of the solution on my head increased the circulation or whatever else people say happen, but early on, this was very effective in the front and back. After time, mother nature seemed to have better ideas.
Propecia - I don't have more than three months on it yet I saw minor results. I will take it long term since it should stem any further losees.
How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?
Although this is only day 8, I already feel more confident. I have yet to feel shock loss, but I feel better in a way that is nearly undescribable. We shall see as time goes how I really feel.
My general advice and suggestions.
Although hair is important to us all, make sure you are seeking self improvement in the correct order. Start internally, then move outwards.
Make sure that your hair isn't what defines you. At the end of the day, if you shaved it all off, are you happy with yourself. If you aren't, hair treatment cannot help you.Workout, eat right, and take your vitamins. Helps with your self esteem and some of those nutritionists may be onto something. It may help with your hair!
