Bald Class: Bald Class 3 Email Me

One hair transplant with the master, Dr. Ron Shapiro on April 2, 2007. I had about 2300 grafts, and about 5400 hairs( I will post my exact numbers when I receive my pics and stats). Mostly 1,2, and 3 hairs per grafts.

Non-Surgical Treatments:

I apply Rogaine Foam 5% twice a day and take Propecia, with no side effects. I have been using dandruff shampoo (Nizoral, etc) for most of my adult life.

My Hair Loss Story

I am 44 years old and began noticing my hair loss in my early 30's. I had lots of thinning in the front 1/3 (crown area), but have lots of hair on the back and sides of my head. I had been to a doctor in the the early 90's and had not decided to go through with it at that time. Then finally after 10 years of hair loss I decided to go ahead and get it done.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Well I used to play lead guitar in a band in my 20's and 30's, and had nice long curly hair. Now my front was thinning, so I really wanted to get it fixed.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

So far Propecia, Rogaine, and hair transplant surgery, although I am new at all of them.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

It has been about two weeks since my hair transplant, and I just want to say it was a great experience all the way around. I really was impressed by Dr. Shapiro and his professional staff. Matt Zupan was extremely helpful and arranged to let me see a surgery in progress during my consultation, which was very helpful. Dr. Ron Shapiro was very thorough in his exam of my hair loss area and answered all my questions very candidly, even to the point of telling me the other hair transplant surgeon I visited was good. I was obviously impressed with Dr. Shapiro's credentials and his ability to make me feel comfortable and confident with the outcome.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

After visiting two doctors and doing extensive research on the internet , I would highly recommend the Dr Shapiro and his team. This guy is the master. I even went to an "open house" today of Dr. Ron and Paul Shapiro's patients. The patients loooked great. If you are thinking of an hair transplant, you need to visit with these guys, they're awesome. I wish I would have found these guys ten years ago.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

It's early, but I am excited about my hair looking better.

My general advice and suggestions.

Do your research, both in person and over the internet. It's also worth leaving your local area to get a good hair transplant.
