Procedure 1

Dr. Lindsey

Bald Class: Bald Class 2 Email Me

In late February, I will have 1250 grafts with Dr. Wm. Lindsey. They will be placed mostly in the frontal triangle region, a 1/4 inch behind the current hairline (to safeguard against future losses,) and also a few in the very front. This will lower the hairline a bit.

After reviewing results on this site, and deciding to go forward with a transplant, I hoped that either Lindsey, Cooley, or Feller would perform the surgery. After considering these doctors and meeting with other recommended surgeons, I chose Dr. Lindsey.

Non-Surgical Treatments:

Proscar 1.25 mg

My Hair Loss Story

I first noticed hairloss at the age of 22. I had been looking at my school ID, taken the previous year. I compared it to a picture taken the previous day. Behold: the hair in my "frontal triangle region," (the corners of the hairline--which had always been lighter in color compared with my other hair,) had gone away. I paid little attention at first; however, with time, the erosion of my hairline became more pronounced. Currently, I can only style my hair certain ways without this hairloss appearing obvious.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Wearing a hat all the time, styling my hair in certain ways--I've felt like I've been inauthentic, if that makes any sense to any of you. That is, I've felt like I've been hiding something. It sucks, and has taken a toll.

Beyond this, my profession rewards appearance with salary. This surgery will benefit not only my psychology, but my career.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

Proscar has entirely stopped my hairloss.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

ProScar... HT=TBD

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

My general advice and suggestions.

Carefully consider the surgeons who would perform this procedure. Look into their results and backgrounds, (educational, etc.) There are certain doctors--many of them recommended here--who achieve consistently excellent results.

Before receiving a HT, I recommend taking ProScar (or equivalent) for at least six months, to see whether it will halt your hairloss, or regrow some of your hair. This is especially important for young people (i.e. the 18-34 demo.) If you are young, you should probably consider potential future hairloss and factor it in to your HT, (i.e. have the surgeon safeguard your hair by transplanting 1/4" or so past the affected area.)
