My Hair Loss Story

My hair loss story....where do I start? I started to notice a receding hairline when I was around the age of 21. Around this time I started to grow my hair out a little and noticed I had a curl to my hair. I liked the curly look and it was alot easier to cover up the receding areas when my hair was curly and longer. This worked out for several years until my hair texture started to change dramatically. The past 4 years or so I started to notice more and more of my hair falling out in the shower and more hairs on my pillow when I woke up in the morning. The last 3 years I have contemplated going on Propecia, Rogaine, or even a hair transplant, but did nothing about my situation. I finally decided enough was enough, because I was getting to the point of going through a transplant or shaving my head completely. Personally shaving my head was not an option, I dont think I would look very good with that look. I researched for months and months, and thought that Dr. Bernstein would be the best Dr. for me.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Just like most of the blogs that I have read, hair loss has affected me dramatically with my self confidence. The only real time I felt 100% comfortable is when I had a hat on.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

Unfortunately this was my first steps towards getting my hair loss under control.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

I am extremely happy thus far (even though it's been only a day since the procedure). The first class treatment that Dr. Berstein and his team gave me made me feel relaxed and comfortable all day long. One of the girls imparticular that was working on me, Nancy, was great. She stayed with me in the office after everyone else had left to wait with me until my ride got there to pick me up.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

I recommend doing whatever it takes to make you happy with your appearance. Whether that be Propecia, Rogaine, hair transplant, or etc. Only you can make your mind up of what will make you happy and confident again.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

Let's hope so. I am eagerly awaiting the next few months to go by to see the changes that will come.

My general advice and suggestions.

My advice is to act as soon as you feel ready to make a change. Make sure that you research as much as you can. There are many choices out there, so find the surgeon that will best suite your needs.
