My Hair Loss Story

As a teenager and young adult, I had a very thick head of hair. A guy called me 'wig-head' once because it was so thick. By the time I got married in 1990, my temple hairline was pretty high and the top was starting to look a bit thin. By the time my first son arrived in '96, it was obvious I was losing my hair, and by 2000, I started buzzing it off. I am an actor, so looking good is important to me and I just thought, 'I don't look good anymore, so screw it.' Last year while looking in the mirror at Ray's barbershop and hating how old I looked, I asked Ray if he knew anyone who'd had a transplant. He said that the technology these days was great and that I was only 10,000 dollars away from a full head of hair. A lot of $$, but what a temptation. He recommended a surgeon and I went in for a consultation. The surgeon, Dr M had just joined MHR after many years on his own. On Feb first, with the blessings of my wife who thought I looked fine, I went in for surgery.  I got lots of compliments as long as I used a liberal dose of toppik, but I was never happy with the original job, which was not intended to be the whole answer although I was not told that at MHR at the time.  With thanks to the brave folks at this forum I found a really world class surgeon to entrust my head to.

A week ago, March 4 09, I finally got the job finished by Dr Feller, and now I wait
