It is typical for transplanted hair to fall out between 2-4 weeks while new hair growth typically starts between 3-5 months.  hair will then continue to grow and mature up through a year.

The wait is the hardest part, but the transplanted hair will regrow.  In the meantime, try to avoid the temptation of staring in the mirror :)

I enjoyed reading about your hair transplant experience with Dr. Shapiro.  Many surgeons only address the frontal third or half of the scalp for the initial surgery depending on the level of baldness and long term hair restoration goals of the patient.  I hope you'll add photos to your blog so we can follow your progress.
