My Hair Loss Story

Began to lose my hair at the age of 25, at the same time as my twin brother, Gemini2 (also listed on this site).  As I got older and lost more, it affected both my confidence with the opposite sex, and my versatility and hireability as an actor.  For the past 5-6 years, I have not felt like myself when I looked in the mirror.  I finally decided I could not ignore it any longer, and began to research the options.  Minoxidil was unsuccessful, and a hair system did not feel like a natural enough option for my lifestyle.  Surgery seemed the only realistic treatment to feel like myself again.  With my twin brother, I began to research surgeons, and across the internet, we found Dr. Hasson and Wong's patients to have the most impressive results and the highest personal satisfaction, time and again.  We were especially impressed with the website's high-definition videos, which zoomed in on the recreated hairlines to show just how natural they looked, up close and personal.  We finally determined to have the surgery done by Dr. Hasson (on the same day!), in mid-September 2009.

How has my hair loss affected me?

It has thoroughly preoccupied every facet of my life--romantic, career, confidence in social situations, you name it.  Over the past 5 or 6 years, I have felt less and less like myself, until I couldn't bear looking at a photo of myself, or even in the mirror any longer.  Something had to be done.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I have used topical Minoxidil 2% and 5% on an intermittent basis over the years since about the age of 25, but with very little success.  I have worn a full wig and pieces in some of the shows I've performed in, which have given me some idea of what I'd look like with hair again, but wearing a hair system on a regular basis did not feel like a natural enough option for my life.  I knew if I was ever going to address the issue, it would have to be surgery for me.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

Just had the transplant this past week (along with my twin brother, Gemini2) with Dr. Victor Hasson, here in Vancouver.  The entire staff, including the receptionist, assistants, technicians, and Drs. Hasson and Wong themselves were thoroughly attentive and generous from the moment we walked in the door, til the moment we walked out on our final day.  We truly felt we could not have been in better hands.  As for the results...we will have to wait 7-8 months to see!

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Every person is different, but for myself, the only permanent, natural solution to my hair loss was an excellent, non-detectable surgical transplant.  And after doing extensive research, the only doctors I would even consider letting do it were Dr. Victor Hasson and Dr. Jerry Wong.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

I'll let you know as the results come in...  :)
