Bald Class: Bald Class 3v

I have had one session in May 2010 and I have received 2381 grafts in the crown region. The Graft distribution is as follows - 1-Hair = 381 FU's; 2-Hairs = 1048 FU's; 3+ Hairs = 952 FU's

Non-Surgical Treatments:

Previously, before my Hair Transplantation I was on Minoxidil 5% and now after my surgery, I am on Propecia.

My Hair Loss Story

I am in my mid twenties and I have been losing hair mainly in my crown region since the last three
years. I was not satisfied with the non-surgical medical treatment, so
decided to go in for surgical hair restoration. After browsing this
website I came to know about the Coalition Docs recommended by this
website as well as by various Hair Restoration Societies. After seeing
the patient reviews, I approached Dr. Bernardino Arocha by email, describing my
hair loss condition along with my recent photos. I also had many queries
regarding the procedure and he was very prompt in replying to all of
them very meticulously. After exchanging emails several times, I did a
skype consultation with Dr. Arocha for about an hour! He was very sober
and when I was speaking to him, it seemed as if I knew him for several
years, whereas it was the first time!! I was pretty much worried about
my hairloss, but he gave me a lot of confidence that after the surgery, my hair condition will be a lot better! That I guess, was the
first treatment! His experienced and knowledgeable staff was also very friendly and helpful! Finally, I had my hair transplantation done by him in May 2010. They really treated me very well, it was an excellent blend of professionalism and personal care!!

How has my hair loss affected me?

I used to have very dense thick hair till 2007, after which I started losing hair very fast. In the last three years my hair fall increased to such an extent that my crown region appeared to be almost bald. This really disturbed me as I started looking much more aged than I actually was. For me it was more difficult to accept hair loss of such a great degree because even three years before, I used to have a head full of hair!!

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

I was on Minoxidil 5% for almost one year, but there was no noticeable improvement. Rather I could see that in the last one year, I had lost a lot of hair! Thus, I resorted to Hair Transplant Surgery in May 2010, which I guess is the best possible way to regain hair till date! I am waiting for the results to show..

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

I am going to narrate my entire hair transplant surgery experience here.. I had my surgery done by Dr. Bernardino Arocha and his extremely talented and experienced staff in May 2010. It startedataround 9:30 in the morning and ended at almost 5 in the evening. To be very honest, the procedure was painless. Doc's staff was continuously administering if I was having pain so that he could treat it with local anesthesia. Dr. Arocha and his staff took out the donor strip and then when his staff were preparing the grafts, Doc started making the incisions on my crown where the grafts were to be implanted. After the incisions were done I was given lunch and I could easily walk around and see the grafts being prepared under the microscopes. I had no problems in doing so. The Doc and his Staff were frequently joking with me keeping me relaxed all the time. They were indeed very caring! Everything went on well as had been planned before the surgery. I left the clinic almost painless. The only pain I felt was during the night on the same day (of my surgery) in my donor region, as had already been told by the Doc and his staff before my surgery. But one pain killer medicine was enough to reduce the pain to almost nothing. On the day after my surgery, I was asked to visit Doc's clinic so that he could have a look at my transplanted region and the donor region. He and his staff were very happy with the condition. Then his staff washed my transplanted hairs and the donor region with a medicated shampoo with utmost care.

Its now over one month that I had my surgery. I have retained almost 50% of the transplanted hair, which is considered quite good. I am expecting new hairs to come out in a month or two.. In a nutshell, I am quite happy with the way things have gone till now. Lets hope for the best results!!

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

I would definitely recommend a person suffering from hair loss, (that has made him / her disturbed!!) to undergo a hair transplantation surgery as soon as possible and it will be great if he / she can be at the safe hands of Dr. Bernardino Arocha!!

My general advice and suggestions.

My general advice to people considering hair transplantation would be to choose from amongst the coalition surgeons, who are also recommended by the various hair transplant societies. From my experience I can say that Dr. Bernardino Arocha is really a great hair transplantation surgeon. I can mention some of the positive points about him, which might make you feel that atleast you can do a consultation (skype consultation is also possible!) with him.. Here are the points.... (1) He is recommended on this website as well as by several other surgical hair restoration Associations, who have really set a very high standard for this kind of practice. (2) He is a perfect gentleman and you can discuss all your concerns and goals with him without any hesitation. When I spoke to him for the first time, I felt I knew him for years!! Now even after my surgery, when I have some concerns, he and his staff happily entertain all my questions. (3) Doc himself is very experienced and has got a very knowledgeable, experienced and skillfull staff (like Craig, Maria and others), who are very professional in their work, but at the same time are personal in their behavior. Doc and his staff are very friendly and make every situation so light that you dont even feel that you are having a surgery!! Atleast I felt like that.. (4) Doc is an artist himself by hobby and what I know about this kind of cosmetic surgery is that along with the technical skills, the doc needs to have a very good aesthetic sense, because its all about your looks, which I am sure Dr. Arocha has.. (5) Dr. Arocha and his staff perform ONE surgery a day, so you will be his sole attention on the day of your surgery. It will be "YOUR DAY", whose result will last you for a lifetime!!
