1 session of about 2000 grafts.
My Hair Loss Story
I started losing my hair in my mid 20s, mostly mild temporal recession. About a year ago, the hair loss started accelerating dramatically, probably due to stress (thank you, divorce). I received a very poor hair transplant of 1400 grafts from a doctor I will not name. This is my progress from my second transplant with Dr. Scott Alexander.
How has my hair loss affected me?
It really hurt my self-esteem, or what was left of it after my divorce.
What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?
Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?
My first transplant had the hairs planted way too far apart. We'll see how the second goes.
So far, the second transplant has been phenomenal. Choosing the right doctor is critical.
What hair loss treatments would I recommend?
Propecia, for about a year before any other treatment.
How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?
Renewed my confidence. People respect you when you don't hate your own appearance. Personal self esteem gets you further in life, especially career wise.
My general advice and suggestions.
Don't do what I did by choosing the most convenient hair restoration clinic. Do your research. Had I gone to Dr. Alexander first and not the unknown doc I chose first, I would be a year ahead of my current transplant and a few thousand dollars less in debt.
Also, have a life after the procedure is done. I spent almost every day after my first transplant looking in the mirror for growth, and it made it all the worst when very little of it came. And it made time come to a standstill also. After the second procedure, I still went out with friends, dated, worked my butt off, went back to school, and made time for my hobbies of fishing, biking, and bar hopping. Needless to say, the time after the 2nd procedure just flew by.
