My Hair Loss Story
Began seeing thinning hair as early as 21, decided that at 34 and after seeing the thinning slowly progress, it was time to go the transplant route. I've found that using a concealer such as Dermmatch can be effective if hair is still existent (i.e. thin).
How has my hair loss affected me?
Hair loss has made me slightly more conscious of my appearance. It was difficult being homecoming king and considered "attractive" - now all of the sudden there was a chink in the armor.
What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?
The best treatments have been: transplant with Dr. Gabel finasteride 1mg one time a day Rogaine foam 5%
Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?
So far, so great! I did extensive research on my surgeon Dr. Gabel and decided on Feb 23 it was time to go ahead with surgery. The results so far are terrific, and as exactly as explained pre-operation.
What hair loss treatments would I recommend?
Definitely surgery if it calls for it. Check with a potential surgeon and really get in-depth recommendations as to what is the best course of action with respect to your individual hair loss. Besides surgical treatment, I would recommend a regimen of: Biotin pills/shampoo, Rogaine 5% foam, and finasteride piils.
How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?
I am just 2 weeks in, and for now am playing the long-term game. Everything has gone terrific so far, and offer sincere thanks to Dr. Gabel. I know that in about 1/2 year, I will start to see solid growth and I look forward to then!
My general advice and suggestions.
Keep your confidence and head held up high. Originally I wanted to hide the procedure from my girlfriend - but in the end, it's best to find someone you trust and will help, and really help take care of you for the first 2 weeks post-surgery.
