RogerAge: 70 | Bald Class: Email Me 3 sessions. The first was 2400 grafts from the forehead to the crown. The hardest part was waiting for the hair to grow back in. Dr. Gable had explained it to me and I knew what to expect, but you are just anxious to see the results. Well, he was right, except that it really started growing in a little over two months and was really in good by the fourth month.
The second was 2000 grafts on the crown. I was really pleased with this one. I was concerned that I might have a cowlick when it grew in, but Dr. Gable took special care to make sure the natural swirl at the crown was in the right direction. Each hair had to be implanted at the right angle and it is just wonderful.
The third session was almost 2000 more folicular units dispersed over my whole head, with special attention to the hairline, part and crown. Fantastic results.
Dr. Steven Gabel, Northwest Surgical Hair Restoration, Portland, OR
I tried everything from shampoos to medications for 10 years without the least bit of success. I just didn't want a hair piece that people would say, "Oh, wow. That is so good, it almost looks real." If it doesn't look real, I didn't want it. There was no answer but a transplant and it has made all the difference. I can't wait for my next procedure. As a matter of fact, I am hoping that will be in March, and despite the fact that I now live in Omaha, NE, I'll be heading back to Dr. Gable in Oregon.

How has my hair loss affected me?
I am a radio and television announcer and an actor and I had notice a difference in the number and quality of jobs I was getting as my hair began to fall out. It started when I was in my early thirties and had continued until I was all but bald from my forehead to the crown of my head.
What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?
None. I tried the medications and the shampoos, but nothing worked. I refused to wear anything that “Almost looked real.” I had a friend who had a hair transplant 15 or so years ago and his head literally looked like a doll head. That was not for me either.
Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?
I couldn’t be more pleased. I only wish this level of expertise had been available 10 years ago.
What hair loss treatments would I recommend?
Since nothing worked for me and I don’t think hair pieces look good, I can’t recommend anything but surgical hair restoration.
My general advice and suggestions.
Find a great doctor, like I did, preferably within a couple hundred miles of your home and go for it. If there is no one you trust that close, find one you can fly to in a couple of hours. Don’t wait. Do it now.
