On April 4th 2008 I had hair transplant surgery with Dr. Robert Dorin of True and Dorin. I received 2506 FUT's totaling about 4400 hairs.
Dr. Dorin and his staff were great. The majority of the procedure was from the hairline back with very little added to the crown. I am hoping for good results but as I am posting this it has only been about 3 weeks. So far everything has gone ok. I was pretty uncomfortable for the first week. Now at 3 weeks post op all the redness is gone and so is the pain aside from tenderness in the donor area. My head is very numb which takes some getting use to. I have not shed the new hairs yet, they actually seem to be growing ( I'm not sure if that's possible). I will post pictures as the months go by. I hope to have some good results to report.

Non-Surgical Treatments:

Rogaine for many years but it didn't seem to help much.

My Hair Loss Story

The hair thing has been bothering me for quite a few years and I finally decided to look into a hair transplant. I had five consultations and was very impressed with the work of Dr's True and Dorin. This blog helped me quite a bit in making my decision so I figured now that I went through it maybe my story will help someone else with their decision.

How has my hair loss affected me?

I am self conscious about my hair. When the wind is blowing I find that I'm walking with my head down. I feel more confident with a hat on. Hopefully wearing a hat will be by choice in a few months.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

So far so good. I'll let you know as time goes by.

At the 7 month mark I can say I am very happy with my progress to date and if the growth stopped right now it will have been worth it.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

Hair transplant 110 percent!!!!!!

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

I am no longer self conscious and rarely wear a hat.  It is so cool to look in the mirror and actually see a guy with some hair (it's been a while).

My general advice and suggestions.

Do your homework when it comes to choosing a doctor!!!
