My Hair Loss Story

Ouffff where to start?

I started losing my hair around 20 years old. For me this was like losing an arm. I felt completely paranoid and massively depressed by the process. There is nothing in the world worse then being teased by your mates, or the stare a women looking at your scalp once you have taken your hat off. Truly awful feeling and I know that all of you know what I am talking about or you wouldn't be reading my blog.

Around that time I just had started going out with one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. Luckily, she was completely in love with me and was understanding, but I know she would not have been with me if I was bald from the start. That is the cold hard truth, once we have lost your hair your "grade" as a male goes down a little. Especially if you are young. Being with someone hot It was hard because I would often walk down the street and see people stare at me like "what is this model doing with this balding guy..." Let's just say I was very unhappy.

Then I started reading about hair transplants. I live in Montreal Canada and there are quite a few doctors that do this kind of procedure here. NO DOCTOR IN QUEBEC IS GOOD. I did my research and found the "best" doctor here. lol what a joke.  Let me make something very clear to all of you that want to do a transplant DO NOT GO FOR ANYTHING LESS THEN THE BEST. There are maybe 10 doctors in the world that do amazing work, do your research and don't be fooled the way I was for my first procedure.

I took the plunge and did my transplant in 2005 with 950 grafts. Three months before I started taking propecia and rogain. By the time the meds kicked in and the transplant it looked great but not because of the transplant. (I was too naive to understand this) It was the meds. Plain and simple. After three happy years I started getting side effects all of a sudden... The worst thing other then losing your hair... Propecia was giving me Erectile dysfunction!!!! So I stopped on the meds and everything fell out. (By the way, my erections are back, thank the Lord) I was so depressed I couldn't leave the house without a hat. Thankfully in my line of work I can wear them and it's ok. As the hairs fell out the only thing that stood was the botched hair transplant from Dr Bedard's office. Boy's let me repeat this again. DO NOT GO TO A SECOND RATE HAIR TRANSPLANT DOCTOR, especially if it's about money or travel. And also, just a side note, there is never a good time to do the procedure, just set a date and make it happen. Do something for yourself if it bothers you as much as it bothered me.

Now, after 2 years of research I decided to to Dr. Rahal. I am not going to state the obvious that everyone write, i.e cool guy, professional, blah blah. All of you already know this. What I am going to talk about is the staff he has under his belt. Wow, this guy knows how to pick them. From the corespondent, Adrian, to the girls doing the procedure everything was tip top. It was like Dr Rahal was the Maestro of this incredibly talented Symphony. I suppose that's what separates the big boys from the second rate doctors who only want your cash making you look like a monster. I don't know how they can sleep at night.

I will post a lot and show you pics as things progress and remember some golden rules.

1. Do not listen to advertisement ever. Go to forums, talk to patients and get the real deal.

2.  Money and travel don't mean shit. It's your head and trust me you will look like a freak if it's not done by someone gifted. People this is a HAIR TRANSPLANT. Find an artist that will make you look incredible.

Contact me anytime for questions, I dont' want anyone making the same mistakes that I did in the past. And to anyone under 25.. wait before doing a procedure.
