FacelessMan's - Profile page Update: An Assortment Of Live Shots, Months 3 3/4 and Later

Posted :10/31/2006

Hello all...in the interest of affording you additional, more "realistic" views of growing transplanted hair, below are several shots taken at events in October of 2006, for your viewing pleasure...
These photos have an additional significance, apart from showing off Dr. Feller's handiwork: they are from recent get-togethers with a whole large part of my family, with whom I recently re-united after over twenty years: my mother, my sister, and an array of cousins!
Needless to say, the casual hair-blog reader might find this a tad unusual, and while I would rather not go into the specifics in this venue -- apart from saying that the aftershocks of your parents divorcing, when you're a little kid, can resonate farther into your future than you may imagine -- I will say that the context of these pictures represents what is easily the most happy, long-awaited turning point in my life. And it seems fitting to interweave this story into my hair transplant journey, because both, if in profoundly different ways, represent me getting back something I've lost.
So, enjoy, and I hope that these images are useful to you. I have blocked out the faces of those with whom I was photographed, strictly as a privacy-preserving move.
From a hair perspective, roughly four days before the October 13-14 shots, I had gotten a rather short haircut in the hopes of blending the hair on the back and sides with the still-short hair growing on top.

OCTOBER 14, 2006: A front-on shot in daylight. The hairline, which I intentionally kept high, is at this point filling in and becoming more defined. As you can also see, the temple points are becoming more a part of the overall "framing" of my mug, although they are still somewhat translucent. Oh, and that is my sister :)...

A shot of ever-thickening temple point action...since then, they have, as of the time I type this (10/31/06), lengthened, thickened, and blended in with the sides quite well. OCTOBER 13, 2006: On another note, this shot was taken in a beautiful old church in the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan, and hidden by my big head is an amazing old pipe organ.

OCTOBER 29, 2006: Marine Corps Marathon, after aforementioned lovely girlfriend did 26.2 miles with gusto! Although this is one of those outdoor-with-sunlight shots, there appears to be some glare on the hair (Do you care? Thought I'd share...) which makes it look a tad thicker than it in fact was/is. That said, this should give you an overall "impressionistic" picture of the effect of a more even and defined hairline, and thickened temple points. As for the goatee thing (or "Van Dyck," as a friend of mine clarified)...chalk it up to experimentation. Jury's still out on that one...

Dupe...sorry...

OCTOBER 13, 2006: Me with my facially obscured yet lovely girlfriend (whose smile definitely rivals this crudely drawn parody you see here). My height put my big ol' head right near some stylish halogen lights, which hopefullly gives you another perspective (if not a detailed one). I personally like the Mickey-Mouse-ear thing going on with the lamps in the background...
