Hello, Hair-Blog Readers!!
Well, I have reached the "Five Month" mark, and, while the progress/growth is NEVER as fast as we would like it, I am happy to report continued and steady growth of the hairs--especially on the top/middle of the head! I am now pretty much able to comb my hair forward in a pseudo-caesar, and look pretty close to how I did before the surgery--with the added benefit of a little more in the center-section, and what I perceive to be better, healthier hair all-around (no doubt a result of the proscar/finesteride!).I am a mix of hopeful, optimistic enthusiasm, and impatient nervousness! (And from all reports from the other blogs, this, too, is absolutely normal and expected at this point in the game...).

My largest drawback/concern at the moment is seemingly not enough progress in the actual outer-areas of the hairline--I know the hair will NEVER come in quick enough for ANY of our tastes, but though the middle seems to be coming in fairly well and steady, the outer areas, are still very thin and wispy, and in some areas, specifically the right-outer-side of the hairline, there seem to be very little evidence of growth indeed... I consulted with Gemini 1 on this, and he is having the same issue on the left-side... We surmised that it could be that those are areas with a good deal of SINGLE grafts, and therefore might be growing more slowly or imperceptibly... We also wondered if the thickness of our donor skin/follicles (see our first posts) might be a contributing factor to this...

Aside from this, there has been a bit of a return of sensitivity to the back-left side of the donor area--not pain, just slightly increased sensitivity again, and I don't wonder if this is just not part of the healing/regrowth process in the area... Also, like Gemini 1, the "ridge" remains in the donor area as well, though it is infinitely smaller than the first few months post-op.

I have been looking at other 5-months posts and pics, and I feel like while we might not be quite as "advanced" as some of the faster-growers, I have every reason to believe we are "right on track" and I continue to hope for and expect a tremendous end-result!!

Stay Tuned...!!!
