Well, the sutures came out today.  I chose not to stay in Canada for the whole two week period, so I had to go to a local clinic to get my sutures removed.  All very pain free and went without incident.  I felt the odd pull where the Doctor explained to me that the sutures were "stuck" to the skin.  But all very simple.  Obviously, the Doctor was quite intrigued by the whole situation, but he said that he was impressed with the scar, and the closure.
Ive included a few photos to show both the donor and recipient areas at this stage.  Polysporin is applied to the donor area in the photos, which you can see.  Following Dr Rahals instructions, also meant that I could have my first shower with the water actually hitting my head today, so that felt pretty good.  Gently massaging shampoo over the recipient area, resulted in most of the scabs dislodging and the hairs have definitely started to shed now.  I can see them in my hands when washing my hair.  Its all part of the process and I obviously knew that it was coming, but its almost sad to see my hairline slowly receding again, a little more each day!  Hopefully not for long!
Also began using Minoxidil today.  Dr Rahal recommends just to apply once daily for several weeks, allowing the skin in the recipient area time to "get used" to the product.  Will also be extending this into my crown area, and with any luck, this may help in strengthening my thinning crown somewhat.  The next several months are going to be very exciting!
