I had a small session done in my temple region when I was 26.  I really was not pleased as it didnt really look natural.

Non-Surgical Treatments:

I have been on Rogaine for probably 17+ years.  I do think it has always slowed my hair down in the front of my hair as I dont have any crown baldness.

My Hair Loss Story

I have always had the worst hair...very thin and a very high forehead.  I never really noticed how high my forehead was until I was in my late teens.  The temples of my hairline have always been high.  They seemed to have gotten a little further back in my mid-20's and I had small work done in the temples, but not very pleased with the outcome.

How has my hair loss affected me?

Being Ive had a super high hairline with high temples since my late teens, Ive gotten accustomed from people telling me when I was a teenager that I'd be bald by 21.  Ive really kept most of my hair except some small recession up front.  Ive never really shed a whole lot of hair at any times.  I notice maybe losing 10-15 hairs a day.

What hair loss treatments have worked best for me?

Ive been on Rogaine for years and do believe it slowed stuff down for me in the front as any recession Ive had has been slow.  I was on Propecia a few years ago and regained some hair on the hairline.  After reading about permanent side effects a couple years ago, I stopped taking Propecia and the hair that remained seemed to have stayed there for a while but eventually left.  I restarted it it 5 weeks ago (mid-March 2010) and my sex drive has increased alot.

I also did try LLLT, but that really seems to have friend my hair.  I noticed my hair getting thinner all over.  Once I stopped, it was a couple months after that when I noticed a bunch of hairs coming in on my hairline.

Am I happy with my hair transplant experience and the results?

With the first one in 1996 by MHR, absolutely not. I recently got my hairline built up by Dr. Lindsey and am in the healing process. Obviously the techniques have changed since 1996. Im impressed about how he packed my frontal hairline with hair and how reassuring he was with things. Plus his staff is just awesome. Now it's a waiting game for the hair to grow.

What hair loss treatments would I recommend?

First I'd always try Propecia and Rogaine for starters if it's early hairloss.  If it's pretty late in the game, Id definitely look into the surgery route.

How has hair restoration surgery changed my life?

Being I'm still in the healing process, it's hard to say.  If all the hair grows that was packed on my hairline, I think Ill be a happy camper in a year.

My general advice and suggestions.

Take your time on finding a good surgeon.
