Can Hair Be Donated from Another Person for Hair Transplant Surgery?

My case is unique from others in that I've been suffering from hair loss from birth. It is a hereditary condition from my mother's side of the family. I am interested in surgical hair restoration but have a poor donor supply. Can hair grafts be donated from a family member or other person?

Theoretically, hair grafts can be donated only between identical twins. Of course, the problem there is that both twins will likely be experiencing the same degree of balding and will want those grafts for their own hair transplant.

Implanting hair from any other person would require the patient to take the same strong and potentially harmful anti-rejection medications that recipients of donated organs must take. This is simply not worth the risks for a non-life threatening condition such as hair loss.
