If the donor supply at the back of the head is limited can we transplant beard hair into our recipient area using follicular unit extraction (FUE)? Does it leave any scarring on the face?
In cases where a patient has a high degree of hair loss and insufficient donor supply, it is possible to transplant body hair to the head. While there are some hair restoration physicians who practice this procedure, many feel that the results are too unpredictable and should only be reserved for patients whose donor supply is extremely limited.
If performed by a highly skilled hair restoration physician, there is very little to no visible scarring on the face.
