Can I Wear a Hat After Hair Restoration Surgery?

1/4/2009 2:40:26 PM

Question:

I normally wear a hat to work daily. If I had a hair restoration procedure, would I be able to continue wearing it while waiting for new hair growth?

Answer:

For the first ten days after your hair transplant procedure, you’ll be able to wear a loose fitting hat as long as it doesn’t brush or rub against the newly transplanted hair. After that, you can wear a normal or snug fitting hat and anything else on your head you desire. If possible, you may want to consider taking the first week off from work, especially since hair transplant postoperative swelling is a possibility.
