Dealing with Post Hair Transplant Pimples

7/3/2010 5:59:19 AM

Question:

I have a lot of pimples in my recipient area 4 weeks after my hair
transplant and it hurts. Is there any cure?

Answer:

Pimples are an unfortunate yet normal part of recovering from a hair transplant. Try to avoid squeezing them because this can spread bacteria that can infect other follicles and cause more pimples.

Each doctor has a different approach to treating post-operative pimples. Consult your hair restoration physician for advice on how he recommends treating these breakouts.

For tips on how to deal with pimples post-transplant read the following article, "Dealing With Pimples 3 Months After Hair Transplant Surgery" by Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians member Dr. Cam Simmons.
