Did I Damage My Hair Transplant 5 Days after Surgery?

4/29/2014 2:20:00 AM

I know these questions may sound silly but bear with me as I'm doing my best to be super careful. I've just had a follicular unit excision (formerly known as follicular unit extraction) (FUE) hair transplant on my hairline 5 days ago.

  1. There are too many bumps and potholes while driving to my work. Is this constant vibration and movement detrimental for graft survival?

  2. My head was exposed 30 seconds to strong sunrays (80 degrees outside) while moving from one building to another at my workplace. Normally I wear a hoodie, but I thought at that moment that it was going to be too quick to cause harm. No redness that I could notice, just felt my receptor zone really hot for the first time. You think I could have damaged the grafts?
Thank you in advance.

I’m sure your grafts are perfectly fine. A few seconds of sun exposure and some vibration during driving are not likely to affect your hair growth.

Try to relax and don’t stress too much. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your hair restoration physician and you'll be okay.
