Does Hair from a Hair Transplant Grow Naturally?

10/1/2008 12:48:51 PM

Question:

Do hairs from a hair transplant grow naturally?

Answer:

Hair transplant surgery is a surgical procedure where hair is removed from the sides and back of your head (called the donor area) and placed into recipient incisions made in balding areas. This surgical procedure will leave scarring, but in most cases, it will be minimal and easily concealed by the remaining donor hair. A hair transplant takes up to a year to mature, but once hair growth starts, it continues and lasts a lifetime.
