Does a Hair Transplant Last Forever?

7/27/2009 1:02:45 PM

Question:

Hello, I want to know about hair restoration, transplantation, replacement. My question is this: is it permanent? Is it just like natural hair?

Answer:

Transplanted hair is as permanent as the hair on the sides and back of your scalp. Though there is some possibility of donor hair thinning as we get older, it's usually minimal and not cosmetically noticeable. Thus, it's pretty safe to say that a hair transplant lasts a lifetime.

Once the hair transplant fully matures, your new hair is natural, will grow, and can be cut and styled like your native hair.
