Does "Shocked" Hair Transplant Grow Back Normally?

I understand that transplanted hair will fall out after several weeks, will grow back thin and fine, and will take up to a year to look normal. But if the transplanted hairs are near and among original hairs, will the original hairs be similarly affected?

Unless your natural hair surrounding the areas of the hair transplant was "shocked" (fall out due to trauma to the scalp during hair restoration surgery), your natural hair will continue to grow as normal. If your natural hair was shocked, it will resume growth around the same time your new transplanted hair grows in. When shocked natural hair returns, it should grow back thick and normal color just as if you shaved your head. Transplanted hair however, will typically start to grow in thin, fine and colorless and take up to a year to darken, thicken, and mature.
