Hair Transplant Preoperative Instructions

4/20/2010 2:32:45 PM

Question:

I have looked at many hair loss forum discussion topics regarding pre and postoperative instructions. It would be great if someone could provide more information on this. For instance, on the day of hair transplant surgery, what medication need sto be taken and what should be avoided? Is it ok to apply vitamin E oil right after the operation?

Answer:

Each hair transplant doctor varies in the preoperative and postoperative instructions they provide. Some suggest applying Vitamin E oil to your scalp a day or two after surgical hair restoration while others suggest dry healing.

Medication may be prescribed / provided on the day of the hair transplant procedure. This typically includes pain medication and antibiotics to prevent infection and swelling.
