How Much Will My Hair Transplant Cost?

2/1/2011 2:53:14 AM

Question:

I'm not sure of what level I am on the Norwood Scale but, looking at the charts, I'm either a III or IV. What's the average cost of hair transplant surgery for this degree of baldness? I'm skeptical about spending the money if it's really expensive. Are there clinics that do this for less?

Answer:

There are many factors that influence the cost of hair transplant surgery. The number of grafts you require will depend upon your individual hair restoration goals, the quality and texture of your donor hair and other variables. However, you can get a general idea by using our interactive graft calculator to estimate the number of grafts you may need. Simply multiply that number by the average, per graft, cost for follicular unit transplantation (FUT). In the United States, hair restoration physicians typically charge between $4 and $6 per graft.

When choosing your hair restoration physician, it is important that you do not let cost and proximity be the deciding factors. You may find the following articles informative.
